IVECO history in China

IVECO is the first international commercial vehicle manufacturer that entered into Chinese market:

  • In 1985, it signed a technology transfer agreement with NAC (Nanjing Automobile Group Co., LTD.) to produce light-duty commercial vehicle.
  • In 1991, the first TurboDaily production line was completed, and IVECO began its investment program in the Chinese automotive industry.
  • In 1996, IVECO and NAC established a joint venture, NAVECO. With the development and expansion of business, IVECO has been spread to the whole China.
  • In December 2005, SAIC, IVECO and Chongqing Trunk signed a cooperation framework agreement.
  • In September 2006, SAIC and IVECO jointly established SAIC-IVECO Commercial Vehicle Investment Co., LTD with equal shareholding. In the same month, SAIC, IVECO and Chongqing Electromechanical signed the cooperation contract and agreement in Great Hall of the People under the joint witness of the prime ministers of China and Italy.
  • In Sept. 2012, IVECO (China) Commercial Vehicle Sales Co., Ltd. was officially established, marking another milestone of IVECO's business expansion in China.
